Melco N1Z Introduction
Melco music servers are audiophile grade source components to access, store and deliver Hi-Res Digital Music without any of the compromises of computers and their peripherals. These dedicated NAS storage devices are designed to work with Ethernet connected music players (UPnP/DLNA), and are also a source for a USB connected DACs. When connected to an USB-DAC, the internal player can be controlled directly from the front panel as well as by network app. There is no need for a PC in order to setup or manage the system and there is no data switch or IT device in the signal path to come between you and your music.
Noise Isolation
Unlike PC based systems, Melco has a dedicated PLAYER port for your network audio player. This connects directly to the network player without any data switch in the signal path which can add noise and damage the music signal. This direct connection ensures the player receives only clean and accurate data. All packets are timed with low-jitter precision and all unwanted traffic is blocked. LAN lights can also be disabled for highest possible data integrity.
Melco Intelligent Music Library
Locating music for play on any digital music system relies on being able to browse using the metadata tagging of the original music files. If the metadata is incomplete or inaccurate, finding music can become quite difficult. Melco automates the process of re-tagging files, using a variety of additional databases and sophisticated algorithms to intelligently replace (or supplement) the original metadata. To achieve this, Melco uses SongKong – a very clever automatic re-tagging engine that has previously been available to Melco users only on a networked computer. Now the Melco EX series machines are shipped with SongKong installed and configured for simple operation.
CD Importing & Playback
Using the optional D100 CD import drive, your valuable CD collection can now be preserved and easily accessed. Using a high precision drive with custom firmware written specifically for audio retrieval, there is no better way to capture and create near perfect copies of your existing CD library. Real time CD playback can also be achieved through any attached USB DAC and controlled via the Melco Music HD app.
Internet Radio powered by vTuner
Using a USB-connected DAC, internet radio becomes a convenient and easy to use digital source featuring intuitive searching by genres, regions and broadcasters. Individual stations can be stored as convenient playlists and controlled by the Melco Music HD App.
