Home Country: England
The origins of PMC date back to the year 1990 when their first professional monitor speaker was produced. It was quickly adopted by recording studios, mastering houses and professional broadcasters around the world. Professional speakers must communicate their message directly to the studio engineer, without coloration or unwanted commentary. These same design principals extend into the home Hi-Fi models produced by the company today.
At their factory in Luton, England, assembly of each PMC speaker is handled by a single individual from start to finish. This ensures strict quality control and accountability. All PMC speakers utilize their unique and studio proven ATL™ (Advanced Transmission Line) enclosures with bespoke drive units made by PMC. These design techniques minimize distortion and allow for extra energy to be delivered to the listener, yet still maintain high efficiency.
Crossover boards (shown right) are hand built using mil-spec circuit boards with premium, close tolerance components, all of which are hand tested by a PMC technician. Finally, all finished goods are subject not just to measurement tests for accuracy, but an actual listening test before leaving the factory.
